Repair Crew Lead- Chimney & Masonry

Overview

Neuens Chimney Service is hiring a Repair Crew Lead to execute chimney and masonry repair projects with minimal oversight. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone confident in the field, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of job progress, quality, and on-site team direction. The position is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship and wants to grow within a company focused on continuous improvement.


Service Area Based in Northern Wisconsin, serving the Northwoods region including Oneida, Vilas, Forest, and surrounding counties. Work is primarily completed within a local daily travel radius with employees returning home each day. Occasional out-of-town travel for company-paid training and events.


Requirements

  • Masonry repair or construction experience required; additional hands-on trades experience is valued, chimney specific preferred

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability in real-world repair conditions

  • Ability to read, understand, and execute written work orders independently

  • Comfortable leading and directing helpers on active job sites

  • Strong understanding of job site safety and quality standards

  • Comfortable working at heights, including ladders and scaffolding

  • Ability to lift 80+ lbs

  • Valid driver’s license


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform chimney and masonry repair work to company and safety standards, including chimney rebuilds and masonry repair, flashing installation and waterproofing, chimney re-lining, firebox repairs and rebuilds, and parging

  • Lead and mentor field technicians through hands-on training, demonstrating proper repair techniques, efficient workflow, and safe jobsite practices

  • Take ownership of job progress, ensuring projects remain on schedule while maintaining quality standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite and work vehicle

  • Document completed work with photos and concise daily notes

  • Identify concealed damage, scope changes, or safety concerns and communicate findings promptly

  • Uphold professionalism standards that reflect company reputation and customer trust

Pay & Structure

  • Full-time position

  • $60k-72k starting pay (based on experience)
