Certified Chimney Sweep Technician

Overview 

Neuens Chimney Service is hiring a Certified Chimney Sweep Technician to perform chimney inspections, cleaning, and maintenance services according to company standards and industry best practices. This is a hands-on field role for someone who works efficiently, communicates clearly with customers, and takes pride in delivering professional, high-quality service.

The position is ideal for a skilled technician who values craftsmanship, safety, and customer trust, and who wants to grow within a company focused on continuous improvement and long-term career development.

Service Area

Based in Northern Wisconsin, serving the Northwoods region including Oneida, Vilas, Forest, and surrounding counties. Work is primarily completed within a local daily travel radius with employees returning home each day. Occasional out-of-town travel for company-paid training and events.

Requirements

• Experience in chimney sweeping, fireplace service, or related hands-on trades preferred

• CSIA or NCSG Certification (or willingness to obtain certification through company-supported training)

• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail during inspections

• Ability to read, understand, and execute written work orders independently

• Comfortable communicating findings and recommendations clearly to homeowners

• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and cleanliness standards

• Comfortable working at heights, including ladders and roofs

• Ability to lift 80+ lbs

• Valid driver’s license

Key Responsibilities

• Perform chimney sweeping, inspections, and maintenance services in accordance with

• NFPA 211 standards and company procedures

• Conduct Level 1, 2, and 3 chimney inspections and accurately document findings

• Identify safety concerns, code violations, or repair needs and communicate findings clearly

• Educate homeowners on system condition, maintenance needs, and recommended solutions

• Assist the repair crew with chimney and masonry repairs as needed to support project completion and team workflow

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite and work vehicle

• Document completed work with photos and concise daily notes

• Properly operate and maintain chimney sweeping equipment and inspection tools

• Uphold professionalism standards that reflect company reputation and customer trust

• Full-time position

• $52k–65k starting pay (based on experience and certification)
